Mexico's Issue, Our problem

The issues going on in Mexico today are horrifying. I honestly had no idea that things have gotten as bad as they have. People are being killed left and right, but this is normal? People have to live in fear they might be next? Even children are being killed? Bodies being mutilated and being left all over as a warning sign is an everyday occurrence?  This situation is crazy and whats worse is Americans are letting it happen! I'm not saying that we have the answer to how to fix the problem, but people here are letting it happen and aren't doing their part to stop it. We see movies all the time about rich people and their "dirty" money. They always have a "dirty" cop on their side letting things slide under his nose like he has no clue what is going on. This is real! Drug cartels are so powerful because we let them get this way! we should be able to stop them before they have everyone scared to go to sleep at night. Americans are so money hungry and easily influenced that drugs and the money that go with it seem like the way of life. It even comes as close to home as it can get. Marion, Ohio is a drug dirty town and it all seems to be looked past and an underline problem. Honestly, this should be top priority because with drugs comes violence as Mexico clearly can demonstrate. If we do not get this issue under control, I do not see things getting any better. We cannot just look past the issues and do nothing. As A man in this news interview said,  "It will take time. It will cost a lot of money. It will cost lives. But we will certainly win this war." No, I don't want people to die, but if there is a reason to die for, this would be one I would stand up for. The children of today are going to grow up with all the drugs and violence as a normality. Is this what we want for them?
